Remember What God Has Done For Us
Pastor: Shane Whelan Series: Stand Alone Sermons Scripture: Titus 3:1–11
This Sunday as we gather for worship we will take a break from our series on The Psalms and be reminded what God has done for us in Christ by looking at Titus 3:1-11. In this passage Paul commands us to obey authorities and be kind to unbelievers. He recognizes the pride we may have as the people of God and reminds us what we were once like and that it was God who saved us. This should be the impetus which compels us toward good works. Paul also recognizes that we are easily distracted and there are many false teachers who distract us, so we will learn how to live by keeping our eyes focused on our Savior. To come prepared for the sermon take time this week to read and to meditate upon Romans 3:9-18, Ephesians 2:1-10, Deuteronomy 7:6-11, Hebrews 11:6, Romans 13:1-7 and WSC #’s 29-36.
As we gather to worship the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit this Lord’s day, we will join our hearts in song, singing the Hymn of Praise “Be Thou My Vision”, the Acclamation of Praise “In Christ Alone” and the Hymn of Response “May the Mind of Christ My Savior” Let us come to worship this Sunday prepared to hear God’s Word, to receive it in faith, to love and treasure it in our hearts, and to practice it in our lives that we may continue to glorify and enjoy Him!
