ONGOING MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Sunday School: A time of fellowship, worship, and the study of God's Word. We believe the Holy Spirit changes people through the Word of God, so the Scriptures are at the forefront of all our teaching. Students are placed in classes based on grade. Here is what each class is studying this Winter/Spring.
- 7th-8th Grade: Gospel Foundations led April Weber and Lissa Hull:The gospel is the central message of the Bible and the primary word of Christianity. From Genesis to Revelation, we see a narrative of human sin and failure, alongside divine mercy and redemption. The gospel in ways is very simple. In very basic terms, it involves human sin, divine grace, and the work of Jesus. This study will help students to articulate the gospel accurately in terms of grace, and to share the good news of Christ with the world.
Sunday Night Live: SNL takes place during the school year and is a relational time of snacks, fun, and games. We believe the Holy Spirit changes people through the Word and relationships, so please come and enjoy spending time with each other. To see when SNL meets please visit the church calendar.
Rivermont Fellowship Night: 7th-12th Grade students will be divided into small groups that consist of six to eight students and two adult leaders. This Fall each group will study the book of 1 Thessalonians, which covers a wide range of themes in only five short chapters: election, friendship, Satan, sex, love, work, and death, just to name a few. Yet perhaps its most dominant theme is the end times—specifically, the second coming of Jesus. As his redeemed people, Christians ought to live lives of holiness and love as we anticipate that final day. RFN meets each Wednesday night through November 16. Dinner is at 5:45pm in the Fellowship Hall and Small Group Bible study begins at 6:30pm.
