News and Information

Our ministry partner, Freedom 424, will be hosting their annual gala in early October, and as part of their event, they are wanting to show the level of understanding of human trafficking at a local level. We often think of this as a global problem out there, but sadly, it is present in the US and even in Lynchburg.

Members of their staff will be on the Rivermont campus this afternoon (9/6) to conduct brief video interviews (1 or 2 questions) of middle/high school students and parents about this issue. The questions will be very broad and will be like, "what is human trafficking?" or "have you chatted online with someone you didn't know?" Parents of students will be asked to fill out consent forms, so this is completely voluntary. If you don't want to answer their questions, feel free to say, "No."

It's sad that such an organization exists, but I'm thankful that Freedom 424 is here to educate us on human trafficking as well as fight against it.

If you have questions, feel free to email Pastor Brett.
