PREPARING FOR THE LORD'S DAY

With our commitment to Jesus Christ and His word, we steady ourselves to live for His glory and our spiritual renewal.  Even when we need encouragement to face the challenges of life, the Lord provides His grace and strength to cause us to walk in His love with one another.

This Sunday, we'll continue our series entitled "The Supremacy and Sufficiency of Christ" as we focus on Colossians 2:1-4.     Pastor Emeritus Lowell Sykes will encourage us to keep our eyes on Jesus Christ in his sermon entitled "Focus on the Gospel."  Along with the Apostle Paul, we long to present ourselves complete in Christ dependent on the deep assurance we share in Him and upon mutual love.

In preparation for Sunday's worship, please remain in prayer as we eagerly anticipate gathering together this Lord's Day to make much of God because of His majesty and love.  Look forward to joining our hearts and voices with the hymns "Blessing and Honor and Glory and Power," "I Lay My Sins on Jesus," and "Jesus Sinners Doth Receive."

If you're going to be out of town this Sunday, let me encourage you to listen to the sermon online (usually posted by Monday afternoon) or you can download the REPC podcast, which will be delivered to your mobile device.

AUGUST 12 – SUMMER RFN "SERVE THE 'BURG"
Once again, we have an opportunity to work alongside our ministry partners in the city in our "Serve The 'Burg" event happening on Saturday morning, August 12th.  We'll meet at 8:30 am on the back terrace for brief instructions and then send teams out to work.  We'll meet at the Hunton Randolph Community Center at noon for lunch with our No Walls Ministry partner churches.  We'll also have inflatables (water slide) for the kids to enjoy after lunch.

DONATIONS
It's that time of year when you have to go through all the children's clothes to see what fits and what just won't work anymore. Please consider donating those outfits that are just too tight to our nursery for emergency use. We need clean, gently used clothes for infants through 4 years old. Please bring to the nursery commons area.
