Preparing For The Lord's Day

Preparing for the Lord's Day

Understanding Christ and our salvation is an anchor for our soul in daily worship and faithfulness to the Lord. Through Jesus Christ in unmerited favor to you and to me, God calls us, justifies us, and sanctifies us. Through His Son according to His good pleasure, God will perfect us and glorify us. These blessings of salvation are rooted in the God who has “chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4).

This Sunday, we start a new sermon series celebrating the beauty of our salvation by beginning with the wonder of God’s election. To the praise of His glorious grace, we will highlight the blessings, the purposes, and the joys of God’s election in Jesus Christ. Our sermon is “Chosen for His glory” from Ephesians 1:3-6. In preparation for the Lord’s Day, please pray for God’s blessing! Please also read Ephesians 1:3-14, Matthew 11:25-30, John 6:44, and Romans 8:29-30.

As we gather to worship our risen Savior this Lord’s day, we will join our hearts in song, singing the Hymn of Praise “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,” the Acclamation of Praise “Before the Throne of God Above,” and the Hymn of Response “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling.” Let us come to worship this Sunday prepared to hear God’s Word, to receive it in faith, to love and treasure it in our hearts, and to practice it in our lives that we may continue to glorify and enjoy Him!
