God has been using our mission partner, Sports Outreach, in El Salvador to bring redemption and restoration to the beautiful yet broken people living in the communities (slums) of Nuevo Custcatlan, which is on the outskirts of San Salvador.

Working with Humberto Alfarez, the SO Director, and his amazing staff and volunteers is deeply humbling as we daily witness the love of God being poured out like streams in the desert. In the short time we have been working with Sports Outreach, we have seen transformation - spiritually, physically and economically - in the lives of the children and families that are served by Sports Outreach. Whether it’s the discipleship that happens through sports ministry, Child Empowerment program, or English Language School, God is birthing and growing a people to serve Him and His kingdom purposes.

What will this mission trip entail?  In addition to building deeper relationships within the team, we’ll also be building relationships with the children and families served by Sports Outreach. We’ll have the opportunity to help and encourage students studying English in the English Language School. We’ll have an opportunity to participate in the Sports Outreach sports and physical education ministry, which also includes their Chess Academy. We’ll also be able to love on severely handicapped children living in an orphanage just outside of town. These children will make you think twice about what it means to be made in the image of God. There will also be some improvement projects we’ll work on to bring beauty to these communities. BUT most importantly, we'll have an opportunity to see God work in our own lives as He breaks our hearts for the people and places He loves.
