Grace Saves Us

Pastor: Shane Whelan Series: The God of Grace Scripture: Ephesians 2:1–9

Preparing for the Lord's Day

Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. We sing it, but do we believe that God’s grace is that amazing and do we really believe that we are wretches? Scripture is clear about humanities rebellion and spiritual state before a holy God. Honestly, we have quite a problem if we want to know and have a relationship with our Creator. Thankfully, God is a God of grace and in his kindness and mercy has provided a solution for us to be redeemed and reconciled to Him. The next four weeks we will learn about this God of grace and this Sunday we begin with a grace that saves us!

To come prepared for the sermon, take time this week to read and to meditate upon Ephesians 2:1-9, Genesis 2:15-17, Romans 3:10-18, 6:23, Isaiah 64:6, 1 Corinthians 2:14, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, and Ephesians 6:17.

As we gather to worship our gracious God this Lord’s Day and Communion Sunday, we will join our hearts in song, singing the Hymn of Praise “Lord, With Glowing Heart I’d Praise Thee”, the Acclamation of Praise “Amazing Grace”, and the Hymn of Response “I Know Whom I Have Believed” Let us come to worship this Sunday prepared to hear God’s Word, to receive it in faith, to love and treasure it in our hearts, and to practice it in our lives that we may continue to glorify and enjoy Him!
