Praying for Unreached People Groups
Our missionary partners, Advancing Native Missions (ANM) are spearheading a prayer event to mobilize Christians to pray for the gospel to be shared with the 7,100 remaining unreached people groups in the world.
What constitutes an unreached people group? First, a people group means an ethnic group with a common culture, language and identity. The Joshua Project has identified a little over 17,000 different people groups in the world. An unreached people group is one which does not have enough Christians in it to effectively influence the entire group with the gospel. There may be individual Christians present, but they are too few to be fully effective.
The prayer event will begin on May 30 (Ascension Day) and conclude on June 9 (Pentecost Sunday). This is an exciting opportunity for REPC to be involved in as we join with the global church in praying for God's Spirit to bring the transforming power of the gospel to these unreached groups.
