Coronavirus Update #18 (5/7/21)
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
Dear Rivermont Family and Friends,
This past year will be a year that few of us will ever forget. The Covid-19 pandemic, political elections, ethnic unrest, and healthcare complexities have presented challenges for all of us. We’ve also experienced opportunities to trust the LORD and love one another in ways that only God could design. By God’s grace, we have maintained necessary Gospel focus and have strived to maintain unity in the bonds of love. By His Spirit, God continues to affirm our certain future as we embrace Jesus Christ. Praise God that He is the “same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
For the pastors, we continue to seek His wisdom for ongoing rhythms of worship, discipleship, and mission. As Pastor Brett shared this past Sunday during worship, the pastors are working on a timetable to bring us back together wisely and with multiple signs of normalcy.
- The Bibles and hymnals are back on the pew racks. Hymn sheets will be available in the Narthex if you’d prefer to use them.
- On this Mother’s Day this Sunday (May 9), we hope to resume coffee service in the Locke Commons and Cheatham Center.
- On June 6, we plan to resume our normal Sunday morning schedule of 8:30am and 11:00am worship services, with Sunday School starting at 9:45 (versus 9:30). For communion on June 6, we are looking to use real bread and juice served at several key stations within the sanctuary. Also on June 6, Nursery will be provided during both services, and our annual congregational meeting will be held at the beginning of the Sunday School hour.
Please continue to pray for REPC as we worship the LORD and love one another to the glory of His name. Keep your eyes open to welcome new visitors each week. And look for updates on the website, rivermont.org, and in our weekly email newsletter called the Cupola. If you’re not receiving the weekly Cupola, you can sign up for that on our website at rivermont.org/newsletter.
