P R E P A R I N G F O R T H E L O R D ’ S D A Y
With God’s blessing for Rivermont EPC, I often marvel at the passion and unity that we enjoy in the Gospel. As a covenant family, we remain humble and excited in Jesus Christ as we keep our eyes on Him and embrace His word. With attention to Colossians 2:1-5, we’ll continue our series entitled “The Supremacy and Sufficiency of Christ” as Pastor Ron preaches a sermon entitled “Focus on the Gospel” (Part 2). With the blessings of the Spirit, we’ll see how the Lord’s strength and direction blesses our worship, community, and mission.
For Sunday’s worship, come prepaared to worship our God in spirit and in truth and to meet Him as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. Look forward to joining our hearts and voices with the hymns “Come, Thou Almighty King,” “O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing,” and “In Christ Alone.” If you’re going to be out of town this Sunday, let me encourage you to listen to the sermon online (usually posted by Monday afternoon) or you can download the REPC podcast, which will be delivered to your mobile device.
Please remain in prayer for our Senior Pastor David Weber and his family. They’re settling into life at Rivermont and in Lynchburg. Pastor Weber will be in the pulpit on August 13th!

AUGUST 12 – SUMMER RFN "SERVE THE 'BURG"
Once again, we have an opportunity to work alongside our ministry partners in the city in our “Serve The 'Burg” event happening on Saturday morning, August 12th. We’ll meet at 8:30 am on the back terrace for brief instructions and then send teams out to work. We’ll meet at the Hunton Randolph Community Center at noon for lunch with our No Walls Ministry partner churches. We’ll also have inflatables (water slide) for the kids to enjoy after lunch.
AUGUST 23 - SANCTUARY CHOIR REHEARSALS BEGIN
Wednesday, August 23, at 6:30 pm in the Choir room. This choir is open to singers high school age and above. If you are not currently a member of the Sanctuary Choir but have some previous choir or other vocal experience, this would be the opportune time for you to join us! Choir members sing in the service that they normally attend (not both services.) Free childcare is available. Please speak with Peggy Bettcher for more information.

DONATIONS
It’s that time of year when you have to go through all the children’s clothes to see what fits and what just won’t work anymore. Please consider donating those outfits that are just too tight to our nursery for emergency use. We need clean, gently used clothes for infants through 4 years old. Please bring to the nursery commons area.
