Preparing For The Lord's Day

Preparing for the Lord's Day

EXILES IN A FOREIGN LAND

1 Peter Sermon Series

Often living the Christian life is meant to be lived by looking back. We look back as a reminder of who God is, of who we are, and what He has done in and for us. That is absolutely vital when we face trials and suffering in the Christian life. If we don't have a good grasp of these reminders, we are likely to give in to our fears and fall away. As one who has been there, Peter means to help us by pointing to four reminders that will encourage us as we seek to live faithfully as God's people. In preparation for this week’s sermon, read 1 Peter 3:13-22, Genesis 6, and 2 Peter 2:5-9, as well as Westminster Confession of Faith Article 25.

As we gather to worship our Triune God in spirit and in truth, we will praise the Lord through song by singing "O Love of God, How Strong and True," "Before the Throne of God Above," and "Shout, for the Blessed Jesus Reigns." Let us come to worship this Sunday prepared to hear God’s Word, to receive it in faith, to love and treasure it in our hearts, and to practice it in our lives that we may continue to glorify and enjoy Him!

If you’re going to be out of town this Sunday, let me encourage you to listen to the sermon online (usually posted by Monday afternoon) or you can download the REPC podcast, which will be delivered to your mobile device.
