Preparing for the Lord's Day

Spiritual Training: Christian Service

This Sunday, Rivermont is pleased to welcome Dr. Sandy Willson to the pulpit to expound God’s Word. Pastor Willson is Pastor Emeritus of Second Presbyterian Church (EPC) in Memphis, TN. He has been invited by the session of Rivermont to lead our men’s retreat this Friday and Saturday and to preach on Sunday morning. Pastor Willson will continue our sermon series, Spiritual Training, with a sermon on the topic of Christian service. Please be in prayer for Pastor Willson as he prepares his material, as he travels to Lynchburg, and as he serves Rivermont in teaching and preaching. To come prepared for the sermon take time this week to read and to meditate upon John 13:1-16 1Samuel 12: 24, Psalm 100:2, Mark 10:45, Ephesians 4:12, Colossians 1:29, 1Peter 4:11 and Westminster Confession of Faith 16.

As we gather to worship the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit this Lord’s day, we will join our hearts in song, singing the Hymn of Praise “Rejoice, the Lord Is King, the Acclamation of Praise “Crown Him with Many Crowns” and the Hymn of Response “We Are Gods People.  Let us come to worship this Sunday prepared to hear God’s Word, to receive it in faith, to love and treasure it in our hearts, and to practice it in our lives that we may continue to glorify and enjoy Him!

If you’re going to be out of town this Sunday, let me encourage you to listen to the sermon online, through the Rivermont App, (available at the App Store or Google Play), or you can download the REPC podcast, which will be delivered to your mobile device.
