Preparing For The Lord's Day

Preparing for the Lord's Day

EXILES IN A FOREIGN LAND

1 Peter Sermon Series

In our passage for this Sunday, the Apostle Peter tells us who we are as God’s people. Through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ we have become precious to God the Father. In response to our special position, we are told how to live and are reminded how we became the people of God. So come prepared to worship this Sunday as we ponder what God has done for us and the mercy that He has extended to us in Christ. Please be in prayer and meditate upon 1 Peter 2:9-10, and in preparation read Exodus 19:5-6, Hosea 1:9, Mark 10:20-21, and Jude 22.

As we gather to worship the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit this Lord’s day, we will join our hearts in song, singing the Hymn of Praise “How Firm a Foundation,” the Acclamation of Praise “O Worship the King,” and the Hymn of Response “We Are God’s People.” Let us come to worship this Sunday prepared to hear God’s Word, to receive it in faith, to love and treasure it in our hearts, and to practice it in our lives that we may continue to glorify and enjoy Him!
