Preparing For The Lord's Day

Preparing for the Lord's Day

On July 4th, while our nation celebrates the political revolution of the Declaration of Independence and the victory of the Revolutionary War, we will begin our study on the Spiritual Revolution of the Great Commission and Discipleship.  After Jesus won the victory against sin and suffering by dying and rising for us, He sent the church on a lifelong mission to go and make disciples of all nations. This Spiritual revolution turned the world upside down as disciples went forth in the power of the Spirit to share the good news of Christ's victory and made disciples of Christ's kingdom.

In this new sermon series on discipleship, we will explore how we continue with Jesus in the great commission to go and make disciples of all nations.  We will see how our powerful and present Savior equips us with all the resources and direction to do this world-changing work.  I encourage you to come to worship prepared to glorify the risen Christ by meditating upon Matthew 28:16-20, Daniel 7:13-14, Revelation 5:9-10, and  Colossians 1:28-29.

This week we will celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper during our worship service. As we receive the elements of bread and wine look in faith to the Lord Jesus Christ. As we physically receive the signs of the Lord’s body and blood, spiritually we feed upon him and all his benefits. Our hymns for this week include “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty", the Acclamation of Praise "Crown Him with Many Crowns (vs. 1),  “Man of Sorrows! What a Name and “Lift High the Cross”.
