PREPARING FOR THE LORD’S DAY
This coming Lord’s Day, we continue in our sermon series on the book of Colossians. As we examine verses 24-26 from chapter 1, we see the importance of getting Jesus right. Seeing Jesus as our supreme and sufficient, creator, redeemer and head of the church is vital when we face suffering. It helps us not only understand the purpose for our suffering but also how we respond to that suffering. We will see that God uses our suffering to make His word fully known to others.
As we meditate on our glorious redemption, which came about through the suffering of God's beloved Son, we praise and magnify his name as we sing, as we focus on Christ’s supremacy and sufficiency, we are aided through the singing of, “Praise My Soul, the King of Heaven,” “The Church’s One Foundation” and “There Is a Redeemer” for the Acclamation of Praise. Elisa Forshey and Whitney Palombo point us to an appropriate response to Christ’s supremacy and sufficiency as they sing, “How Can I Keep from Singing,” for the Offertory Anthem. Our good friend and REPC missionary, Dorcas Harbin, will also be bringing us a moment for mission as she updates us on her ministry before returning to England on Monday.
If you’re going to be out of town this Sunday, let me encourage you to listen to the sermon online (usually posted by Monday afternoon) or you can download the REPC podcast, which will be delivered to your mobile device.

JULY 19 – SUMMER RFN MOVIE NIGHT & ICE CREAM

Afterwards, we will watch the movie "Finding Dory" with our brand- new sound and projection system! This movie creatively and vividly portrays our longing for a relationship and a connection within families of love. Feel free to stop by just for the ice cream or stay for the movie. Since it will be indoors, we will be on, rain or shine! Chairs will be available, but if you would like to bring a blanket or comfortable chair from home, feel free to do so.
JULY 27 – MEN’S CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT
Come join us for our second Men's Corn Hole Tournament at 6:00 pm on July 27th. We will chow down on some delicious food, hear a short message about God's calling on men, and then begin tossing!
AUGUST 12 – SUMMER RFN "SERVE THE BURG"
Once again, we have an opportunity to work alongside our ministry partners in the city in our Serve The Burg event happening on Saturday morning, August 12th. We’ll meet at 8:30 am on the back terrace for brief instructions and then send teams out to work. We’ll meet at the Hunton Randolph Community Center at noon for lunch with our No Walls Ministry partner churches. We’ll also have inflatables (water slide) for the kids to enjoy after lunch.
