Preparing for the Lord's Day
As we come to the end of our sermon series “The God of Grace,” we have learned about a grace that saves, frees, and transforms us. Surely, God has done enough, and we can take it from here. Yet, we will see we need the grace of God every day because this world is full of suffering and hardship. Life can be challenging, and whether it is self-inflicted, the product of living in a fallen world, or even something the Lord sends our way, we need His sustaining grace. As we look at Paul’s thorn in the flesh, we will see the Lord in His goodness gives us exactly that so that we can live confidently and know that the Lord will sustain us until the day of Christ Jesus.
To come prepared for the sermon, take time this week to read and to meditate upon 2 Corinthians 12:1-10, 1 Peter 4:12-19, John 16:30-33, Matthew 24:13, Philippians 1:6, Romans 7:15-20, Deuteronomy 29:29, and Revelation 20:1-4
As we gather to worship our gracious God this Lord’s Day, we will join our hearts in song, singing the Hymn of Praise “Our God, Our Help in Ages Past”, the Acclamation of Praise “Amazing Grace”, and the Hymn of Response “We Will Feast in the House of Zion” Let us come to worship this Sunday prepared to hear God’s Word, to receive it in faith, to love and treasure it in our hearts, and to practice it in our lives that we may continue to glorify and enjoy Him!
