Preparing for the Lord's Day
Over the years, all cities throughout the United States have increased in diversity as people from all over the world have moved into our neighborhoods. How do we live on mission in Rivermont and for Rivermont when we engage neighbors from different cultures and perspectives? Where do we begin the conversation and how do we build bridges for the Gospel?
This Sunday we will explore Paul’s address to the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers in Athens. We will see what compelled him to share Christ and how he contextualized the Gospel with these people that had no frame of reference regarding a Biblical worldview. To prepare for worship read Acts 17:16-34, Colossians 1:15-20, Isaiah 41:9-20, and Psalm 115.
As we gather together for worship, we come to worship the God who created the whole world and has called us to Himself in Christ by the power of the Spirit. We will sing praises to our God, singing Hymn of Praise: Crown Him with Many Crowns, Acclamation of Praise: Praise My Soul the King of Heaven, the Gloria: Glorify Your Name in All the Earth, and the Hymn of Response: Lift High the Cross. Let us behold our God and become like Him as we share with our community the greatness of our God!
