Preparing For The Lord's Day

Preparing for the Lord's Day

This Sunday, we return to our journey through the book of Numbers and witness God’s response to sibling rivalry between Miriam, Aaron, and Moses. With merciful meekness, Moses intercedes for his older sister and brother in response to God’s righteous judgment against them. We’ll see the beauty of our risen Savior who is gentle and lowly in heart and who invites us into His presence (Matthew 11:28-29). We’ll understand the necessary blessing of Christ’s prayers for us as well (Luke 23:34; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1). In preparation for the Lord’s Day, please pray for God’s blessing and take time to read and meditate upon Numbers 12:1-16, Matthew 11:28-30, and 1 John 2:1-2.

As we gather to worship our risen Savior this Lord’s day, we will join our hearts in song, singing the Hymn of Praise “We Come, O Christ, To You,” the Acclamation of Praise “Before the Throne of God Above” and the Hymn of Response “Jesus, I Am Resting, Resting.” Let us come to worship this Sunday prepared to hear God’s Word, to receive it in faith, to love and treasure it in our hearts, and to practice it in our lives that we may continue to glorify and enjoy Him!

If you’re going to be out of town this Sunday, let me encourage you to listen to the sermon online (usually posted by Monday afternoon) or you can download the REPC podcast, which will be delivered to your mobile device.
