Preparing For The Lord's Day

With our commitment to Jesus Christ and His word, we steady ourselves to live for His glory and our spiritual renewal. Even when we need encouragement to face the challenges of life, the Lord provides His grace and strength to cause us to walk in His love with one another.

“Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped. ” Psalm 73:1-2 And thus begins this Psalm of Asaph. There is much to prize in this Psalm. There is the honesty of Asaph that characterizes much of the Psalms. There is the ability to articulate not only the struggle but also the “solution” to that struggle.

This coming Lord’s Day, we continue in our sermon series on the book of Colossians. As we examine verses 24-26 from chapter 1, we see the importance of getting Jesus right. Seeing Jesus as our supreme and sufficient, creator, redeemer and head of the church is vital when we face suffering.

This coming Lord’s Day, we continue in our sermon series on the book of Colossians. As we look to close out chapter 1, Paul continues to share his heart for ministry to the church. Having written on the suffering he endures for the sake of the church in verses 24-26, he now addresses his work in presenting the church mature in Christ in verses 27-29. That maturity begins and ends by embracing the mystery of “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
