GRADED
VOCAL CHOIRS FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH
These
choirs meet for rehearsal each Wednesday (September to May).
Each
choir presents an anthem
in Sunday worship approximately once a
month. The umbrella concept for all choirs is to promote
“joy
in singing to the praise and glory of God”.
The Cherub Choir (4
& 5 years old)
Here we focus on the voice God has given us and how we
each try to sing the same sounds (pitches) at the same time.
The words we sing will have much to do with God’s love
and how He made each one of us.
The Carol Choir (grades
1 to 3)
This choir will concentrate especially on the ability God
has given us to listen as we sing.
We need to sing the same pitch together and also make our
own voice sound pleasant (tone) with the other voices. The words
of our songs will have a special emphasis on things
God says in His written Word, the Bible.
The Chapel Choir
(grades 4 to 6)
This choir will harness the natural enthusiasm of this
age group and promote the concept of always presenting our best
efforts in our Praise of God. Singing in harmony will be one of
the areas of concentration.
The texts of the
songs will include a special concentration on the doctrine of
Salvation through Christ alone.
