Ray and Kay Baker

Map of Sweden

  • The Bakers serve in Stockholm, Sweden. Ray teaches apologetics, ethics, Bible and philosophy at the Bible Institute, Credo Akademin. He also conducts seminars and conferences.

  • The goal of Credo Akademin is to train Christians in Europe to present the gospel more effectively to their contemporaries in post-Christian Europe.

  • Kay is involved in ministry to the educational needs of missionary families through the organization SHARE.

Bill and Mary Bell

Map of United Kingdom

  • Bill and Mary Bell founded Within the Walls prison ministry to U.K. inmates.  Bill’s experience as a world-class professional soccer player and coach gives him a natural platform from which to share the Gospel.

  • God has used Bill and Mary’s “Mum and Dad” approach to evangelism and discipleship to reach both youth and adults, men and women, within the walls of the British prison system.

Vernon and Patty Brewer

  • Vernon founded World Help in 1991. Today, this organization serves in over fifty countries through ministries that include church planting, Bible distribution, child sponsorship, leadership training, and humanitarian aid.

  • The mission of World Help is “to fulfill the Great Commission and the Great Commandment through partnering, training, helping and serving, especially in the unreached areas of the world.”

  • Rivermont partners with Vernon and World Help to carry out projects in several different countries.

Russ and Sue Carr

  • Russ and Sue Carr, members of Rivermont, are the founders of Sports Outreach Institute.

  • SOI is a non-denominational Christian ministry that uses sports as a vehicle to bring Christ to children and adults in several east African countries, Mexico, and in U.S. inner cities.

  • Ministries range from large-scale evangelism crusades (such as “Soccer Crusades” in stadiums) to one-on-one strategies to conducting sports clinics and programs in various venues.

Dorcas Harbin

Map of France

  • Dorcas serves at One Another Ministries’ missionary care facility in Montpellier, France.

  • Missionaries ministering in Europe and North Africa come to this ministry center to receive encouragement, counseling, therapy, or intensive care.

  • Dorcas is also involved in a church planting effort in Montpellier that includes both a French and an international congregation. Dorcas is helping to develop a women’s ministry at this church.

Myanmar Projects

Map of Myanmar

  • In partnership with World Help, Rivermont sponsors several projects aimed at strengthening and expanding the Kingdom of God in Myanmar (also known as Burma).

  • Our national partners in Myanmar operate a drug rehabilitation program with an eighty percent cure rate, conduct a Bible School to train pastors, operate and orphanage and leper colony, and share the good news about Jesus Christ throughout the land.

  • Rivermont has also sponsored the construction of several ministry centers in Myanmar.

Dennis & Linda Ryan

Map of France

  • Working with Campus Crusade for Christ, and based out of Paris, France, Dennis and Linda are part of a team dedicated to reaching people in North Africa, Southwest Asia and the Middle East.

  • People in this region are among the hardest groups to reach with the gospel, and many challenges, and dangers confront those God has led to be witnesses to this very needy group.

Rodney and Janice Suddith

  • After serving at Rivermont as Director of Christian Education for 18 years, Rodney accepted a call to become Executive Director of Sports Outreach Institute in January 2005.

  • Sports Outreach runs sports programs in orphanages, schools, prisons, facilities for the physically handicapped, and churches in Africa, Latin America, and the United States.

  • Sports Outreach ministers in other ways as well. For example, The Street Children’s Project is a model being developed to provide food, vocational training, community service, and spiritual guidance to street children.

Paul and Reinhild Sydnor

Map of Austria

  • Paul and Reinhild are serving with International Teams in Innsbruck, Austria, where they minister on the “refugee highway.”

  • The Sydnors describe their ministry to diverse peoples that have found temporary refuge in Austria as “missions on the doorstep.” Paul and Reinhild have many opportunities to minister in Austrian churches.

  • Paul grew up in Lynchburg, and served for a while as Assistant Pastor here at Rivermont.

Nepal Projects

Map of Nepal

  • Rivermont, in partnership with World Help and New Directions International, sponsors several projects aimed at strengthening and expanding the kingdom of God in Nepal/
