CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

Graded Sunday School Classes - 9:35a.m. - 10:35 a.m.

Our graded Sunday School Program begins with the nursery and continues on, taking our young people through the completion of high school. Beginning in the nursery, children are introduced to the gospel through an atmosphere of loving Christian care. At age two, the children are moved to the Toddler Class where they continue learning of God’s love and care through the use of Biblical stories, songs and games. Three-year-olds are promoted to the more structured Beginner Class, where Scripture memorization and catechism training are introduced. From that point on, children are promoted yearly (usually in September) as they continue their systematic study of God and His Word.

For administrative purposes the Sunday School Program is divided into the following:

  • Ages Birth - Kindergarten: Nursery Division
  • Kindergarten - Fifth Grade: Elementary Division
  • Sixth Grade - Eighth Grade: Junior High Division
  • Ninth Grade - Twelfth Grade: Senior High Division

Our graded Sunday School classes use the Great Commission Publications Sunday School Curriculum. This is an excellent graded curriculum that provides the following:

Redemptive-historical Perspective - The Reformed approach to the Bible is to see it as a complete, unified counsel of God. Therefore, each small portion of God’s Word is interpreted in the context of the whole.

A God-ward Focus - As we encounter any biblical truth, it teaches us about God and ultimately elicits worship from us, as we discover him to be sovereign Creator, Redeemer and King.

Show Me Jesus - The subject of Scripture is God’s unfolding story of salvation and Jesus is its focus. We show how Jesus Christ, reflected on every page of the Bible, came to seek and to save the lost.

God’s Covenant of Grace - From Genesis to Revelation, covenant is the thread that ties the Bible together; we build on that truth to teach students of all ages the constant faithfulness of God.

The Home Link - Church and Home: working together to point covenant children to Christ. Parents are the key in the spiritual training of their children and we provide resources for them to reinforce the solid teaching the children receive here at church.
